Things have been a little crazy here since we moved into our apartment on Saturday. Right now I am using my kind neighbors wifi (it sounds better than way than to say stealing) while people are at work. I have a million projects going on and things to do to get this place feeling more like home, which is one thing that I am surprised to say it already does! Here are just a couple of pics from our new life here in KS!! More will come once our internet gets installed!

Virgin Diaries
This should be mandatory for everyone to watch. Especially when you are in a sad mood, bad mood, tired mood...basically all moods. Jake and I were watching it in the hotel and having a hard time not waking Bubba up with our laughter.
As we were watching this particular one where the guy brought his mom with him to dance with girls, we felt so bad for him! He was just awkward! You could tell he was such a sweet guy but he wore these hideous shirts and gave out stickers with his face and number on them. As we were commenting on how sorry we felt for him he dropped a bomb... He said he was a 34 yr old Mormon.
Instantly I was like why?! You give us all a bad name! After my initial shock at announcing he was Mormon, I kept watching and just felt more and more sorry for him. He could probably get married if he would just CALM down. While I watch him struggle I realized how grateful I am to have found Jake and that we just clicked and I'm not like this guy...34, single, living in my moms basement, obsessing about making out with someone. I think I would probably have a couple cats and wear only flower prints.
As I continue laughing my butt off at Mormon guy..."Sometimes you get horny and want to kiss and be physical with but not talk to the bishop physical just physical" hahaha I am going to be glad that's not me!!!

Check, Check, Check
Since getting into Overland Park late Sunday night we have tried to get as much done as possible. It's really nice having a short deadline because it forces me to actually make decisions! So far we absolutely LOVE it here! The drivers are seriously so amazing! People are kind and friendly and we love this city. It's so stinking hot it's a joke. I am more than use to the 104/105 degree weather it's the humidity and the fact that it doesn't cool down at night that kills me. I guess I'll get used to it, or just stay in my house in my underwear. Luckily though we are 99.9% sure we found our place and we can move in Saturday is amazing and such a big blessing! We have also been to a couple of home decoration stores looking for what we want to furnish our apartment with. Tomorrow I think we are touring Kansas City. Seeing where Jake is going to work and hopefully the Temple there. It's hard being away from our parents, friends and especially my sisters (I miss them like crazy!) but we are so grateful to be here. It's exactly where we should be.
Here are just a couple of pictures so far!

Obsessed
Like I said in my last post that to compensate for the craziness of this move I have taken to online shopping. What started as things that we will need for our place has now turned in to a majority of look at things that I want need for myself, bubba and Jake. I have also realized that when I find something I like for some reason I have an obsession to get it in every color. But regardless of my weird ways I have formed a collection of what I am currently obsessed with. I am still trying to figure out what I desperately need to buy and what I could possibly make, I'll probably end up buying Bubba clothes cuz they always look cuter than my clothes!
Rachel's Picks
I love all of these cute clothes from Zara for Bubba! I think that living in Kansas City will give me the perfect chance to dress him in ridiculously cute fall/winter clothes.

Moving
I have decided that the thing I want most in this life right now is for Hogwarts to be real. If it were then I could use some magic spell to have everything pack its lovely self up, transport itself to Kansas City, and magically use one of those spells like in the 4th movie where the tent is like 5 times the real size to make any apartment the size I want it.
After making a ridiculously large number of trips to home depot ( I think they recognize me now), calling a billion different moving companies, packing all our crap up (how do 2 people have that much stuff), and tirelessly searching for apartments/townhomes online I look like this
Like maybe if I put my hands over my eyes all the crap will go away. Luckily though it is all ending. Our pod is coming tomorrow! We are leaving for Denver Saturday, and then Sunday completing our drive to Kansas City. Although we will be doing a mad dash once we get there for apartments (we have like a list of 23), I plan to do a lot of this...
Sleep like a baby in a band new wonderful city!
Until I can do this, I will continue to rip my hair out and compensate by searching for all the new things we need for our new place!! Its like registering for our wedding all over again, except now we have to buy the stuff lol. Oh well, the shopping is going to be a great use of my time and gives me an excuse to get to know my new city!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road...
Which will lead you straight to Kansas, which happens to be where we are moving!
Jake was offered and accepted a job in Kansas City, Kansas! Hewe start work July 30th, which means we have a lot to get done in a short time window. We are hoping to be completely moved out of Utah by the end of next week so we can start this next chapter. We found out yesterday and spent the whole day calling friends and family who we knew had worried about us, and prayed for us, and spent countless time talking to us and trying to help us. We are so grateful for each of you and all that you have helped us with!
Its a little scary to be that far away from family but we are so excited to be in a big city! We already have this long list of things we plan to do, like actually watch good college football (Rock Chalk Jay-hawk), and go to a Raider Football game for me and a 49ers for Jake, the list continues but I will spare you.
It's going to be a bug adjustment and Jake spends over 50% of his time traveling but we know this is exactly where we are supposed to be and we are so excited for this change! I am crossing my fingers that Jake gets to travel to some cool cities and that Ty and I can tag along to explore different areas while he works all day! I have a ridiculously long list of things I need to get done, which is why I am procrastinating by looking at home furniture instead of actually researching places lol. I feel like I am in the twilight zone, but a really fantastic one!
Ps has anyone used those pods things? We are 99% sure we are going to use one just trying to figure out which company to use? If you have and you love it let me know! Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Mom!
Happy Birthday Mom! I'm so incredibly glad that I get to be with you on your actual birthday. I love you so much and am so grateful you're my mom.
I'm sorry that I was once embarrassed of you and asked which of my aunts to bring to the mother's day program in 1st grade. I'm sorry that I embarrassed you in 2nd grade by drawing a picture saying that during the summer you laid on a pool floatie in the pool and Kenz and I had to sit on the side lines (for the record that is untrue). Luckily I outgrew that stage quickly (freshman year of high school) and from that time on have realized how lucky I am to have you as my Momma. I know that I am a better mom to Bubba because I have you to look to as an example. Thank you for always loving and supporting me even when I was a total idiot. Love ya Momma, cant wait to spend your day with you!
Ps...Bubba and Jake always say Happy Birthday!

Holding My Breath
All day today I will be holding my breath. I will continue being anxious and holding my breath for up to a week. It will all work out how it's supposed to. But until we know one way or the other I'll just keep holding my breath, letting God direct us which direction to go.
Lions, Tigers and Bears Oh My!
I normally am not a huge Wizard of Oz fan. I love Wicked but the Wizard of Oz is somewhat boring to me. But considering some things in our life right now and the fact that we spent this morning at the Hogle Zoo I thought it was perfect.
It was so fun to walk around and show Bubba all the animals. I love showing him stuff and looking at him exploring this great big world! It's also so incredibly fun to be with my family!
On a side note my favorite pictures are the ones where Bubba is blowing kisses holding his little polar bear, and the one where he rests his bottle on his polar bear so he didn't have to hold it. His little personality is so funny!

Summer Lovin
Being from Southern Ca, my favorite time of year is Summer. I love the smell of sunscreen, the tight feeling of my skin when I have a slight burn, no makeup and my hair constantly in a bun or pony. I love introducing Bubba to all my favorite summer activities.
Today we met up with my family at a kiddie water park in Draper. It was so fun. My mom spent quality time with Bubba while my 3 sisters and I rode all the rides together. I love everything about water slides until the moment you pop out and hit wedgie central surrounded by people you don't know!
After successfully not losing my bottoms or flashing some poor, innocent child we returned home where my loving sisters offered to watch Bubba so Jake and I could go to dinner. Its weeks and days like these where I'm surrounded by my family that I realize the huge blessing I have been given in my life.
So here's a couple of pics from before the water park, the last ones my favorite! It's like he was searching for cute girls/friends to play with. Hope all y'alls summer is going just as great!!!!

Country Traditions
Practically every year since I turned 12 we have spent one night at the Oakley Fourth of July Rodeo. Its honestly one of my all time favorite traditions. I love all the cowboy hats, the events (especially the bull riding), cotton candy and being with my ever crazy family. It's a wonderful tradition and I can't wait to introduce it to Bubba! I wanted to take him but it doesn't start till 8 and Bubba has a strict bed time of 6:30. I say strict cuz if we dont put him down he's a nightmare and falls asleep on his own by 7 lol. So we saved ourselves the trouble and Jake stayed with him. A while ago Jake and I decided that when we were with my family and someone needed to stay with Bubba it would be Jake and when we were with his it would be me. I love being here but I miss my 2 boys! I just keep hoping the festivities continue into the next week!

Beach Boys
Being with my family has been so fun! It's nice to be in a place with no cell service. It's kind of a great chance to unwind and disconnect from the world. We started our 4th with the always epic Oakley Parade. Seriously this is the funniest thing I have ever been to and it's a family tradition to go. We drove down the cabin to go to Stadium of Fire to see the Beach Boys. Jake informed me that the last time he went was like 20 years ago and it was the Beach Boys then hahah. We are hoping they don't die on stage tonight. We are definitely most excited for the fireworks. Fingers crossed our ear plugs work with Bubba. Being around my family is always the best antidote for anything going wrong in my life. I have never been to Stadium of Fire so I'm excited and loving this holiday in particular. I love being American! I feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of this great nation! And a big thank you to anyone you serves and their families for my freedom!! Here's a couple pictures from just today, I have a million that I need to post later!
