A,B,C as easy as...

I am always on the lookout for new apps that entertain Ty. I swear my phone only has kid apps on it. Lately I have been working with Ty on teaching him the basics (colors, shapes, abc, ext) you know actually starting to use my teaching degree lol.

There is a new app we have discovered that is a HUGE hit in this house. The best part is that it's free, those are always the best apps. It's called Endless ABC.

It's great! Sounds out each letter of a word, tells the definition, has you unscramble the words and put them in their correct order. It keeps Ty entertained for a good couple of minutes which is always a huge help!

Rolling the Dice

I am somewhat slightly dreading tomorrow.  Tomorrow Jake and I are doing a 6 day juice fast.  We have been juicing since the new year but we have always been amateurs, only doing like orange juice, and the good tasting ones.  Tomorrow we are committing to the kale, and full on veggie one.

I just dont know if I can go all week with out diet coke.  Luckily I already have Ty's meals for the week cooked and frozen so all I have to do is heat them up and cut up his daily 3 oranges which will help me not feel hungry since I wont be cooking all week.  So here is my last week which I celebrated by going out for frozen yogurt (no surprise there that Ty loved it), watched Monsters Inc everyday, split a pizza at our fav pizzera with my fav little guy, and forced him to take a picture with his momma. So I'm rolling the dice and hoping that this juice fast doesn't kill me or make me accidentally kill someone from hunger.  Between you and me I'm more worried about the second.

The Great Fingerpainting Adventure

I didnt actually do this today... we did it last Monday afternoon. However I thought I would rather remember last Monday instead of today.  Since last Monday was full of laughter, learning and of course Ty pooping the bath which is a stark contrast to today which was full of puffy eyes, dark circles from only getting 3 1/2 hours of sleep (nope not cuz of Ty he slept perfectly all through the night), yoga pants, and only leaving the house for a Diet Coke to help pull me out the awful mood that lovely drama caused late last night.  Like I said lets go back to last week, when I went back into semi-teaching mode and taught Ty about colors

he had more fun coloring his tray then the paper

i have no idea how paint ended up in his hair?!

look at that cheesy pose (then he pooped and bathtime was over)
Sometimes I wish life was easy like when you were little and all you had to do was dip your hand in paint and spread it all over paper. Lets go back to those days

Meh

There is an ominous feeling hanging over today.

It could be attributed to the fact that some little person woke up for the second day in a row at 5:45 (have to figure out why this is and fix it before I go insane).

Or

IT could be attributed to the fact that today our neighbors set a new record for screaming how much the effing hate each other, punching something and then slamming the door... Today it all went down at 8:43 am.  Nothing like hearing that as you're reading books with your little person. (More thoughts on this subject later).

Or

It could be the fact that Friday it was 60 degrees and today its 15.  I might as well just say hello to the inside of my house because I'm not leaving it anytime soon today.

Whatever it is, the meh is still hanging over my head like a giant cloud.  Guess I'll grab my 2nd diet coke of the day and watch some Real Housewives and wait till my favorite little person wakes up from his nap to play with.  Maybe some baby giggles will help the meh cloud disappear.

Ty's Birthday (recap)

Theres something so magical about Christmas-time and I'm so glad that we get to mix the magic of Christmas with the magic of the birth of a child.  I love the significance of having a child born right before the world celebrates the birth of our Savior.

Dear sweet Ty,
I can't believe we were lucky enough to be blessed to have you a part of our lives for eternity.  Thank you for showing us what it means to love selflessly. I cant wait to watch you grow and continue to see who you will become.  We love you!

Celebrating Ty's birthday was more than a little bittersweet for me.  It is hard to believe that it has already been a year since Ty was born.  What a wonderful year it has been! Although I miss the fact that he is growing and not so much my little baby anymore, I love this new stage of his personality.

We celebrated with my immediate family and my grandparents.  It was small and simple and full of love, everything a birthday should be!  My mom asked a girl in our home ward to make Ty's cake.  It literally was fabulous! Everything on the cake was completely edible. It was so funny to watch Ty shove the cake in his mouth.

In the great battle to get T to wear his Mickey Mouse ears....

I won

How to eat a random piece of food placed in front of you

Step 1: slowly touch food

Step 2: eat small piece of food

Step 3: shove as much of said food in face

Till you look like this ^^

Final result.... chocolate high

Then it was time for presents! Thank you to all our sweet family members who gave him a birthday gift!

Happy Birthday T!

Disneyland

Knowing how obsessed T is with Mickey Mouse we decided that it would be so fun to take him for his birthday when we were in California.  So we picked the day the world was supposed to end, because if the world is ending I might as well be at the "Happiest Place on Earth" with the people I love most, celebrating the best thing in the world for me.

Jake flew into John Wayne airport Thursday night and we stayed about a block away from Disneyland.  We got there right when it opened at 8, and hit all the little kiddie rides that we thought my sisters might not want to do.  Then most importantly we visited Mickey Mouse.  T's reaction when we walked into his house and saw him was priceless.  After a few seconds of shock he had the biggest smile I have ever seen.  We were luckily the last people to take a picture with Mickey so he took us on a tour of his house and showed Ty all the little things inside.

Then we found ourselves a nice little park bench, called the airport to see if Jake's bags finally made it, and ate while we waited for my sisters to arrive.  Once they did we ate again (typically how I spend my breaks) and did all the rides.  We had an amazing day! I loved every second of it, and cannot wait to go back again soon! There is nothing better than watching Ty's face, completely amazed as the rides sing and dance at him.

*Warning there are a ton of pictures! When you have a child you document everything!*

Yes I am forcing him to wear the hat for a picture

Love them all!
